I just want to thank everyone for your calls, emails, thoughts, and prayers! I can totally feel your support- without it I would spend my day in the fetal position on the floor of my room. (Which I've tried once or twice- you can only imagine what the kitchen looked like when my kids tried to make themselves lunch).
All things seem to point to a parathyroid adenoma (adenoma = benign). I have another scan on Wednesday that will help us see what exactly is involved, and from there I will know if I can have the surgery here, or if I need to go to the cancer center at Stanford. Once the tumor (which is causing kidney stones, among other things) is taken care of, the surgeon can concentrate on my kidneys and the stones, which apparently are too large to pass- lovely :)
I can't believe what a humbling experience this is, and I am so grateful to have all of you in my life!

oh Jamie...how sucky. Us kids who aren't at home, but don't have families yet don't hear the latest on these sorts of things. I had no idea. =( But I am glad that things are looking up--minus the huge kidney stones that can't go away until the tumor does.
For what it's worth...I love you. You really are amazing.
