They may look alike but...

I continue to find it fascinating that each of my kids is soooo different and that I have nothing to do with their individuality. For instance, school. Jackson seems to really like second grade but, I'm not really sure?

Me: How was school today?
Jackson: Good
Me: Did you do anything fun?
Jackson: I don't know.
Me: What did you talk about in class?
Jackson: I don't know.
Me: Did you make any new friends?
Jackson: I don't.....um, Yes.
Me: Cool, what are their names?
Jackson: I don't know.
Me: Were you even AT school today?

And then there's Max. He starts talking the minute his foot steps inside the car and doesn't stop until I get a complete play by play of his entire day. He knows the name of every kid in his class, each of their siblings, who has a pet iguana, and who's toilet flooded this morning.

Jackson does eventually share things with me. He just needs processing time. Usually I'll be standing in the kitchen making dinner, and he'll walk in and blurt out, "I read a book today about shark attacks and this kid got his stomach and arm eaten off and then they caught the shark with this big cage thing and used a hook and opened his mouth and got the arm out but they didn't put it back on the kid."

At least he shares the really important things.

Oh boy. I don't know who's funnier...Max and his non-stop chatter or Jackson and his little spurts that take like 10 minutes to get out but the whole time you just want to hug and kiss him for being so sweet! I MISS YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!! Give those boys hugs from they're FAVORITE aunt! :)

Oh my goodness, thank you for sharing these sweet bits of your boys - it helps me feel like I know them a little. Love them a LOT, of course...and sad to know them only a little.

That is so precious!!! I was more like Jackson. I really couldn't remember the highlights of my day until something triggered a memory. Almost like in the middle of the day when you suddenly remember your entire dream from the night before. I love your boys so much.

You know what's funny, I can see them being the opposite when they are teenagers...:). Missed you last night, boo.
